September 3, 2026
Satterwhite Taddeo attorneys Matthew D. Joss and Miranda James recently secured a defense verdict on behalf of an urgent care physician assistant in Spotsylvania County.
The plaintiff alleged that the physician assistant negligently prescribed prednisone to treat shingles despite the patient’s history of gastric bypass surgery. The plaintiff further alleged that the medication caused perforated marginal ulcers after approximately 3½ days of treatment.
Following the presentation of the evidence, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defense.
